Born 04/13/1999, Henna is the first Vizsla we owned.  We made a lot of mistakes with her, but she managed to overcome most of our ignorance.  She was our first show dog, and was severely "handler impaired."  Despite this, she finished her Breed Championship with two Best of Breed placements.

Henna has a lot of interest in birds, but because of mistakes we made in her early training, her "work ethic" is not up to par.  She easily finished her Junior Hunter title, but she chooses not to retrieve reliably or be steady to wing & shot, so she has not gone any further.  Why don't we send her to our trusty trainer, you ask?  Well, it seems that Henna is spoiled rotten (we prefer the term "indulged"); additionally she and her Mom (Trish) are co-dependent.  Separation for more than 24 hours may be fatal.

In addition to being just another pretty face, Henna has earned her Companion Dog obedience title, her Canine Good Citizen title, and registered with The Delta Society as a Therapy Dog.

Henna has retired from the show and obedience rings and now spends her days at home with Mom.  She does enjoy going to field trials in a strictly supervisory role.  She also donates her time with the local Kennel Club, acting as a "teaching dog" at handling classes for Junior Handlers.
